Me gustó bastante, la historia no me agobio en ningún momento y me sorprendieron bastante los últimos capítulos。

There were a lot of things I liked about this book, but there was also quite a bit that I disliked, if I'm being honest。writing - 5/5Probably self-explanatory。 Leigh Bardugo's writing is outstanding。world-building - 5/5Much to my surprise, I was extremely impressed by Bardugo's world-building。 In most cases, I find it very difficult to form any attachments to fantasy worlds。 But this book was different。 I loved the Grisha world。 I understood the culture。 I could visualize the map in my head as t There were a lot of things I liked about this book, but there was also quite a bit that I disliked, if I'm being honest。writing - 5/5Probably self-explanatory。 Leigh Bardugo's writing is outstanding。world-building - 5/5Much to my surprise, I was extremely impressed by Bardugo's world-building。 In most cases, I find it very difficult to form any attachments to fantasy worlds。 But this book was different。 I loved the Grisha world。 I understood the culture。 I could visualize the map in my head as they traveled。 It was perfect, especially considering it's the first book and will set the tone for the rest of the series。characters - 3/5the characters weren't bad, just not memorable。 excluding the Darkling, there was nothing that really set Mal or Alina (whose feeble attempt at romance bored me) or any of the other characters apart from typical YA fantasy characters。 I guess the fact that I didn't hate Alina was something, but it wasn't enough。 None of the characters were interesting except for the Darkling。 I think my favorite character was the stag。plot 3/5 (generously)Most of the book was boring, to be honest。 The first, like, third of the book was extremely slow, and finally when something interesting happened, (view spoiler)[Alina left (hide spoiler)] making it even more boring because we had to read chapter after chapter of (view spoiler)[Mal and Alina trekking through the mountains。 (hide spoiler)] I normally would've given the plot 2 stars because of how slow-paced it was, but the ending bumped it up to 3 stars。 It wasn't particularly thrilling, but it was climactic and solid, and well, it was good enough, considering the events that led up to it。final thoughtssince a strong plot and memorable characters are mainly what I look for in a book, Shadow and Bone was just。。。decent。 It was a typical YA fantasy book, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed, considering my high expectations。 The first book is supposed to be the strongest in the series, and I didn't feel that it quite delivered。 Again, it wasn't bad at all, it was just average。 I will continue reading the trilogy with Six of Crows in mind because I can't wait to read that :) 。。。more

I came into this book with the understanding that obviously Six of Crows is way better concerning writing style, characters, and plot。 But I still enjoyed it and I’m SO excited for the show。 I mostly had a lot of fun making fun of Mr。 bland cracker (aka Mal), Miss I need a man to function (aka Alina) and Mr。 I’m evil but also super sexy (the Darkling)。 I didn’t really fall in love with any of the characters besides Genya and Alexei 😌 but I’m hoping the show will be different in that way。

REALLY LIKED IT, it was so fast paced and the world building was just AMAZING, wish we had more action thought。 But probably the next will have it。 Loved it!!! Totally 4 stars。

In preparation for Shadow and Bone coming out on Netflix in under a month, I decided to reread the Grishaverse books。 The Shadow and Bone trilogy was one of the first sets of books I read last summer when I rediscovered my love for reading and I wasn’t too big of a fan。 I’m not sure whether it is the excitement for the tv show, my better understanding of the rules of the Grisha or I am just back in the swing of reading but I found Shadow and Bone MUCH more enjoyable this time round。I don’t have In preparation for Shadow and Bone coming out on Netflix in under a month, I decided to reread the Grishaverse books。 The Shadow and Bone trilogy was one of the first sets of books I read last summer when I rediscovered my love for reading and I wasn’t too big of a fan。 I’m not sure whether it is the excitement for the tv show, my better understanding of the rules of the Grisha or I am just back in the swing of reading but I found Shadow and Bone MUCH more enjoyable this time round。I don’t have strong feelings for Alina one way or another。 I like her enough as the main character but I am much more interested in those around her such as Genya, Zoya, Ivan and (most importantly) the Darkling。 I honestly think the Darkling is such an intriguing and intricate character who has so many layers who I would love to learn more about。 I remember last summer strongly disliking Mal but I found him much more interesting and likeable this time round too。Overall I actually quite enjoyed this book and I hope the other books in this trilogy are more likeable than last time too。 This has also made me even more excited to watch Shadow and Bone play out on the screen! 。。。more

I've been doing a combination of audiobook/reading it on my own and I really like this method so I can do things around the house while I do it。 It's also brought the correct pronunciations to light which is always nice。 The Russian names and accents are really nice to see in a fantasy story。 I've been doing a combination of audiobook/reading it on my own and I really like this method so I can do things around the house while I do it。 It's also brought the correct pronunciations to light which is always nice。 The Russian names and accents are really nice to see in a fantasy story。 。。。more

4。5 stars。 Everything was really good! The magic system was explained really well, and the characters were easy to get attached to。 No parts were hard to get through except for the last 10 pages。

Such a good start to this series! The writing and world sucked me in and I need more Darkling! I found the first half of the book a bit underwhelming but it picked up and I was really enjoying the characters, I want more Genya! The world building is fantastic and although it was a bit confusing, with the different Grishas and their powers! I’m still confused but I’m excited to finish this series and hopefully read Six of Crows too before the tv show comes out!

To be honest, I don't understand the hype。Don't get me wrong, the book was good。 The world building from a Russian "czarist steampunk" angle was an excellent new addition to classic fantasy tropes of Medieval Europe。However。。。 I did not fall in love with it the way others did。 Which is fine (at least this wasn't a Sarah J。 Maas book。)I think Alina is an interesting protagonist but I don't think Mal deserves her。 I like him and I wish he did more to be worthy of her but I HATE the trope that she' To be honest, I don't understand the hype。Don't get me wrong, the book was good。 The world building from a Russian "czarist steampunk" angle was an excellent new addition to classic fantasy tropes of Medieval Europe。However。。。 I did not fall in love with it the way others did。 Which is fine (at least this wasn't a Sarah J。 Maas book。)I think Alina is an interesting protagonist but I don't think Mal deserves her。 I like him and I wish he did more to be worthy of her but I HATE the trope that she's the easily seduceable girl because she's never had sexual experience- given that she's pining over Mal- while he's "tumbled" a number of girls。 No wonder the Darkling could get all up in that。。。 Or at least try。 If there's one benefit of the sexual revolution it's the idea that a girl won't fall for the first man who successfully convinces her that she's "not like other girls" and promises her sex。 (Looking at you Fifty Shades of Grey。)And there's a lot to be said about the fish-out-of-water in a chosen-one narrative, it's a classic trope for a good reason。I think it's excellent world building, I like the characters on a whole, and I think Baghra is goals。However, I don't think this is the masterpiece it's chalked up to be。 Good and compelling but not one I'd re-read when I'm bored。 。。。more

ThoughtsAlina always thought she was just an orphan girl who works as a cartographer for the army。 She marches side by side with her best friend and fellow orphan, Mal, who is the best tracker the army has seen。 Before joining the army the two were tested at a young age for powers by the Grisha。 However when Alina and her crew are attacked in The Shadow Fold by volcra she lets off a bright light that makes the monsters retreat。 It turns out Alina is the original Sun Summoner。 Now that her power ThoughtsAlina always thought she was just an orphan girl who works as a cartographer for the army。 She marches side by side with her best friend and fellow orphan, Mal, who is the best tracker the army has seen。 Before joining the army the two were tested at a young age for powers by the Grisha。 However when Alina and her crew are attacked in The Shadow Fold by volcra she lets off a bright light that makes the monsters retreat。 It turns out Alina is the original Sun Summoner。 Now that her power has been revealed Alina is in grave danger。 The Darkling (a Shadow Summoner/the Second in Command in all of Ravka/the leader of the Second Army) quickly rushes her to safety behind Grisha walls where Alina is never hungry, never cold and is trained to use her powers to the best of her ability, but it comes with a price。 One she is not willing to pay。With each fantasy book I pick up it always takes me a few chapters to understand what is happening。 However once I got into it I tore through the pages! This was no exception。 I loved Alina who is a take no prisoners orphan in love with her best friend。 Behind the walls she is a fancier version of herself, but still the same。 For a hot moment I wanted her attraction to the Darkling to workout。 I believed him when he said together they could rule the world to make it a better place。 It turns out he has a more sinister plan。 This is only the first book of three, and there is a Netflix Series coming out in April so I'm on a tight timeline to finish all the books before the series。 If they are anything like this one, it will not be an issue。Book Rating: 5/5Wine Pairing: Penfolds Bin 9 Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 。。。more

I wish so much there was more depth in today's literary female characters。I would love so much to see a young girl that doesn't revolve her existence around whether she's liked by a guy and more about what she dreams of doing, or her search for it。 About her talents, her limits, her interests。I do understand that at sixteen you don't see a lot of that and your life does actually feels sometimes as if it revolves around being liked or disliked and the way you look and appear to the world。 That's I wish so much there was more depth in today's literary female characters。I would love so much to see a young girl that doesn't revolve her existence around whether she's liked by a guy and more about what she dreams of doing, or her search for it。 About her talents, her limits, her interests。I do understand that at sixteen you don't see a lot of that and your life does actually feels sometimes as if it revolves around being liked or disliked and the way you look and appear to the world。 That's common in today's society。Yet, i's not all there is to it。 It's not。 There's so much more in a teen's life than that and although you might not be able to see it so clearly at sixteen, I believe it should be an author's job to show it to you。 To point out there's more to you。With that said, I found the story and the characters a bit tasteless。 The protagonist's main interest, apart from being handsome and quiet, doesn't have much to say about himself。The antagonist is the average, two-faced, evil and handsome "dark lord" already seen countless times。And Alina, the protagonist of the story, apart from being the awkward stereotyped teenager that never likes herself and only care about being liked but some guy or another (as I said above, there's much more to a young girl than that), seems to have nothing else to say about herself。Plot-wise (without spoiling much, not that you'll be blown out of your mind by the plot twist), is the usual concept of the heroine that must sacrifice herself in order to save the world with her super-superpower。 I just feel super-tired of it。 It's an ok read。 Nothing more。 Nothing less。 Don't get overexcited; get to it with no expectations and you'll be fine。 。。。more

Read cause I don’t like to be left out on the upcoming tv show。 Wish we got a little more Darkling-Alina time before he turned out to be an asshole。 Don’t know how I feel about Mal。 Their romance felt a little out of the blue (despite their long life friendship)。 As for the Grishaverse, I think the first book doesn’t do it much justice–I feel like there’s sooo much we still don’t really know (If only Baghra would’ve opened her mouth earlier)。 Wasn’t expecting the Darkling to be awful, I’ll give Read cause I don’t like to be left out on the upcoming tv show。 Wish we got a little more Darkling-Alina time before he turned out to be an asshole。 Don’t know how I feel about Mal。 Their romance felt a little out of the blue (despite their long life friendship)。 As for the Grishaverse, I think the first book doesn’t do it much justice–I feel like there’s sooo much we still don’t really know (If only Baghra would’ve opened her mouth earlier)。 Wasn’t expecting the Darkling to be awful, I’ll give them that。 。。。more
